Meditation Music

During certain aspects of your meditation routine you will need to play meditation music that helps alter your brainwaves and allows you to slip into a deep relaxing state. The types of meditation music preferred varies among students and teachers of meditation. The only underlying theme is that the meditation music has certain beats per minute to help change your perception.

Like writers who find inspiration in the music they listen to, the same can be achieved by the meditation student. Mediation music is not limited to what others feel is the perfect piece to achieve your goal.

Meditation music is rhythmic music that is slow and soothing~Meditation muSiC is rhythmic music that is slow and soothing}. This simple Music sends signals to your body to relax. Your muscles relax. Your breathing slows and becomes deeper. Your body is not distracted or alarmed by any fast, loud muSic~Your body is not distracted or alarmed by any fast, loud muSic}. Meditation music decreases your stress level and removes distractions.

Meditation music should have one element within it no matter what genre you prefer and this element is called ‘binaural beats’. Binaural beats are musical beats that cycle through the song that are the same note throughout but are slightly off or out of tune with the rest of the composition. These beats are what you train your mind to hear for and the better you become at doing this, the easier it will be to follow the beats and let your mind slip into a meditative state.

It is a form of ‘brainwave entrapment’ and when it comes to meditation music as an aid in self meditation, it becomes a focus for the mind. Binaural beats help Slow your brain down from a waking state – or Beta state – to a state of very relaxed consciousness – the Alpha state. People who have mastered meditation can go into the even deeper Theta state which borders on being drowsy or even sleeping without being aware of it when they listen to the right meditation music.

Should You Use Grass Carp For Aquatic Plant Control?

Controlling the plant life within a pond, or any other body of water is quite important. Why is this you ask? Well, because for whatever reason, you’ve chosen that you don’t desire it there. No matter if these plants have generated a type of nuisance for swimmers, or have just simply stopped up the engine on a favorite motorboat, you wish them to be gone, and there are several ways to do this.

Naturally you could utilize chemicals, plastic lining, freezing, manually pulling them up, or even dye, however all of those are fairly strenuous, and there is no guarantee that the pond, or fish, would ever be anywhere near what it was following these actions. So it’s about time to have a look at different methods—techniques that won’t damage you OR your pond.

Around 1963, a brand new fish was introduced in to the U.S. ecology, and that fish was known as the Grass Carp. This fish was purposefully integrated into our ecosystem for one purpose of eradicating aquatic plants, and so far it’s done a great job. Within the United States, A Grass Carp is often called a White Amur, presumably because of the fact that the phrase Carp holds negative interpretations here in the U.S., and the word “Amur” is a reference to the river that the fish originates from, the river which borders China and Russia.

The Grass Carp, is what is known as an intrusive species, indicating that it will multiply and take over the ecosystem that it is placed in (similar to humans), but fortunately science has progressed a long way, and while it required some time, as well as a lot of gene manipulation, sterilizing a Grass Carp became standard all over the world so that it’s integration doesn’t harm or destroy the ecosystem.

Another detail to note, is that the Grass Carp doesn’t consume everything, of course it loves plant life, and will consume the vast majority of it, however as humans, there are things which it prefers over others. A few of the things that the Grass Carp does like, are:

Coontail
Spikerush
Smartweed
Bladderwort
Bulrush
Water hyssop
Eelgrass

There’s many additional grasses, and a quick trip to a library, a web search, or a consultation with a professional will quickly reveal the things a grass carp would consume.

When bought in bulk, Grass Carp is fairly inexpensive, at about $10-20 for each fish, and that is very reasonable considering the years of service it will give you; surviving for around 10-11 years.

In some states, you’ll need to get a license prior to putting Grass Carp in any body of water, even if it is owned by you. To discover if that’s necessary, speak with a game warden near you, or simply check the regulations of your state, as that info is freely accessible to anyone who requires it.

Clearly, Grass Carp are an excellent alternative to utilizing chemicals, or lining the pond with plastic, since not just are these great for getting rid of undesired plants, you must also remember that this is a symbiotic relationship, you provide something that they want, and then they give a service to you, preventing you from needing to do this on your own. All in all, that’s a good deal.

Green Living Homes That You Create

Author: DA Southern

In today’s marketplace, Green Living Homes have taken on a different connotation and seem to inspire different emotions as well. In these economic times, it seems that you can’t do Green Living Homes without some sort of a major overhaul of your home , or so it seems. When a new administration enters the White House, somebody or some group seems to think they may have a voice. In America, the Green lovers are of the mindset that the next President will be so for them.

Granted, I am not coming at you from an environmentalist mindset. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. I am of the mindset that a lot of the Green thinking borders on the “Guilt” aspect that characterizes you as bad if you aren’t Green for some reason.

Quite honestly, the Green movement can be a bit radical in its propagation of their overall message and, from a design standpoint, the lens that I often gage things, the materials have not been there to justify a Green Living Home. That has begun to change with some great new design materials that has started to spark the interest of the design community, and, more importantly, become more reasonable from a price standpoint.

Now, here are some things you can do to be more Green just by making changes in the things you do everyday and in future design changes that you may be making in your home.

First, if you are about to do an Interior Design change, look at your electrical systems. There can be a tremendous waste in your electrical output systems. Even if you are not doing Interior Design changes , walk around your home and see it there are ways you can reduce some of you electrical waste. If you just did some minor changes in the way you used your electricity by making sure appliances are turned off when not in use, etc, you could probably realize a 6% to 20 % difference in you bill each month a recent study showed.

From a Design standpoint, it goes without saying to spend the extra money for the energy efficient appliances. An option that is not as difficult to do these days, but still needs to be thoughtfully considered.

There are some simple changes from a lighting standpoint by changing out some of the bulbs that are claiming to be more efficient. I am not talking about going crazy and just start changing them out, but when you need to make a change, do so then.

Also look at you filters in heating and air conditioning units. My Dad was a heating and air guy for years and was always shocked as to how people just wouldn’t take the time to change the filters which would cause countless dollars in repair bills yearly. There are some pretty decent filtration systems, but are still a little pricey compared to regular ole filters.

Finally, from a Kitchen Design standpoint, Bamboo and cork flooring should be considered in Interior Design, as they are dynamic looking. Kitchen cabinets can also be redone with similar alternatives to wood which can like just like exotic woods.

There are some great looking Metal and Stone alternatives which are also good for Kitchen counters and cabinets and a great product, IceStone, one brand of recycled glass used to create countertops for kitchens and bathrooms that generally ranges between $100 and $150 a square foot.

The point is that there is finally coming into the market place a great plethora of products that are Green focused to design and live in your Green house. With the changes you can make from a Design standpoint and just the changes you do by walking around the house, you can be Green. Just don’t let it be out of guilt.

It’s kind of like when I used to eat Twinkies that I loved so much and said that sooner or later there would be a low-fat version, and I was right.

Its the same with going Green. They’ll catch up.
